Vatican II and the
Components of Liberal
Catholicism – A Review

by Michal Semin

"The eight-part series of talks, presented by John Vennari, explains not only the principles of liberal Catholicism, but also makes clear that what we face today as the postconciliar reform and new orientation is nothing else than their triumphant reincarnation.”

The right of federally funded health care providers to decline to participate in services to which they object, such as abortion, is affirmed by a final regulation that has been issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and is on display today at the Federal Register.  Of note, the timing of the issuance places the day it is to take effect on January 20th - the same day pro-abortion President-Elect Barack Hussein Obama will be inaugurated.

Vatican’s Working Document for Synod
Undermines Inerrancy of Sacred Scripture

By John Vennari

On June 12 the Vatican released its “Instrumentum laboris” (working document) for the upcoming October Synod of Bishops.
The document entitled “The Word of God in the Life and the Mission of the Church” contains a disturbing section that appears to undermine the inerrancy of Sacred Scripture.

Rabbi Shear-Yashuv Cohen's words, spoken in the presence of Pope Benedict, were a clear reference to Pius XII, the wartime pope who many Jews say did not do enough to help them

"We oppose the beatification of Pius XII. We cannot forget his silence on the Holocaust," Shear-Yashuv Cohen, the Grand Rabbi of Haifa, told the daily La Stampa.

Tarsicius, the boy- saint of the early days of the Church.

Fatima and

By John Vennari

No student of the true Message of Fatima is surprised by the war now erupting between Georgia and Russia. For over twenty-four years since Pope John Paul II’s consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1984, Father Nicholas Gruner’s Fatima Crusader, and other concerned Catholics (including CFN), have insisted that Russia has not converted and we still await the period of peace promised by Our Blessed Mother. - go to www.cfnews.org/RussiaWar.htm

By John Vennari

Ecumenical Chapel at St. Paul Outside the Walls

“Ecumenism is the Enemy
of the Immaculata”
- St. Maximilian Kolbe

by John Vennari

The Papal Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls will open an ecumenical chapel where non-Catholic religions may perform their own liturgies and prayer services. The initiative is part of the Pauline year to begin in June, 2008. Sadly, the opening of the chapel has every indication of being part of Pope Benedict XVI’s ecumenical program that he urged upon his newly-created Cardinals in the consistories of both March 2006 and November 2007.

Kobler’s Key to the Council

Book review by Paul Zarowny, Ph.D

“I take Kobler to be a 'friendly witness' for the traditionalists’ case regarding the problems of Vatican II.  I think he is correct in his interpretation of the Council documents.  His identification of the role Husserl’s phenomenological reduction played in the writing of the documents provides a Rosetta Stone for deciphering the supposed 'ambiguities' in the texts.  His presumption that the Council was convened as a reaction to the Cold War places it in its proper historical context.”

Why does the Anti-Defamation League Support Pro-Gay “Hate Crimes” Legislation?

By John Vennari

The Jewish Anti-Defamation League fiercely supports Hate Crime Legislation to give homosexuals, bisexuals, transvestites and cross-dressers special protection that even children and the elderly do not enjoy.  Why? The answer comes from an unlikely source!

In his papal constitution Auctorem fidei, Pope Pius VI condemned the rejection of Limbo as "false, rash, scandalous to Catholic Schools".

Limbo to be Cast into the Outer Darkness?

by John Vennari

On April 20, 2007, the Vatican announced that it is discounting the doctrine of Limbo, saying that it is a too "restrictive view of salvation". The modernist falsehood now propounded about Limbo defies traditional Catholic doctrine, as is explained in the following article written on the subject last year.

An Interview with Bishop Williamson
of the Society of Saint Pius X

In a recent 30 Days interview, (No. 9, 2005), Vatican Cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos, President of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, admitted that the Society of Saint Pius X is not in formal schism, and that the Latin Tridentine Mass was never abolished. Then on December 8, Una Voce of Italy published that Bishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the Society of Saint Pius X, had a confidential five-hour meeting with Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos at the Vatican in late November. Catholic Family News Editor, John Vennari, contacted Bishop Richard Williamson, Rector of Nuestra Senora Corredentor Seminary in Argentina, for his comments.

Pope Benedict XVI’s
Christmas Address to the Curia

On December 22 of last year, Pope Benedict XVI gave a Christmas greeting address to members of the Roman Curia at the Vatican. Given the possible importance of the address, CFN asked Bishop Richard Williamson of the Society of Saint Pius X for his thoughts and analysis. In light of these remarks, Bishop Williamson briefly comments on the present negotiations with Rome.

Vatican II vs. the Unity
Willed by Christ

by John Vennari

Demonstrates that the architects of Vatican II puposely worded the Vatican II documents in such a way as to open wide the doors for the new, pan-religouis ecumenical orientation. A young Father Joseph Ratzinger in 1966 happily admitted that the groundwork for ecumenism was laid in the Council document Lumen Gentium.

Will Seminary Document
Stay Straight?

by John Vennari

Right-thinking Catholics had hoped that the new Directive would contain the same sort of unambiguous ban against homosexuals in the seminaries as did the 1961 Vatican Instruction. It appears that this may not be the case. If the new document contains the “three-year” clause, then the Vatican has left the door open for homosexuals to continue to be admitted to Catholic seminaries.

by John Vennari

" The secular press repeatedly calls Archbishop Levada a doctrinal conservative, but this is not true. Levada is a man of Vatican II, an enthusiast for ecumenism and interreligious practice. He would have been condemned for his words and actions had he said and done them under Cardinal Ottaviani, his predecessor of the Holy Office."
