The Centenary of
Pope Saint Pius X:
1903-2003
On August 4, 1903, the Cardinals elected Giuseppe Sarto, Cardinal Patriarch of Venice, as the 257th Successor of Saint Peter. He took the name Pius X, reigned until his death in 1914, and was canonized on May 29, 1954. This month marks the 100th anniversary of his elevation to the Papacy. To commemorate this joyful event, we present a special issue of Catholic Family News in which every article is dedicated to Pope Saint Pius X, the greatest Pope of the Twentieth Century.
