What Does
Redemption Mean to Me?
[The Wedding Feast of a
Lamb]
On
August 11, 2000, God blessed our family with a beautiful girl. We named this gift, Bernadette. Bernadette had beautiful long blonde hair and
soft blue eyes. She was truly an angel
from heaven.
A
few weeks after she was born, we had this precious child baptized. By baptism, Bernadette’s soul was washed
clean of original sin and graces flowed into her soul. She was even more beautiful in the eyes of
God, for now little Bernadette had been purchased by Him.
Our
Lord protected Bernadette’s soul on earth just as a father would protect his
child’s life. By protecting her,
Bernadette grew in purity and grace. She never complained and often turned over
the People magazines at the local
stores. I saw through her life and
couldn’t understand how such an innocent girl could possibly fight this
world. God knew of my worries, and
solved my problem.
On
Dec 25th, 2006 God took our little Bernadette from us. She was called to heaven to spend Christmas
day and the rest of eternity with her Redeemer.
When
Bernadette was baptized six years ago, Our Lord bought her. He let us enjoy her and see what a beautiful
creation God had created. Sadly, however,
Our Lord could not bear to see such an innocent child surrounded by sin. He wanted this girl, whom he bought, for
Himself. Even though we do not realize
it, we are all bought like Bernadette.
We must be willing to follow His laws, and one day He will take us to
Him to spend eternity in heavenly bliss.
St. Bernadette, pray
for us.
