While
Pope Benedict XVI was in the United States, he gave out Communion in the hand
during all his Masses to communicants, all of whom were standing. In Rome on May
22, the Feast of Corpus Christi, he had a kneeler placed for the communicants
so that all had to kneel, and he never gave Communion in the hand, but
on the tongue only. We can only pray he will administer Communion kneeling and
on the tongue exclusively, and soon mandate the traditional practice for the
entire Church.
